We just finished our first week of band rehearsal here in Raleigh, NC. Things are going insanely well. This company is moving like a well oiled machine. We had a great time rehearsing at Haggard Studios. Now we are headed to Henderson and we begin our tech week in McGregor Hall. I am so excited to work with our amazing director, Jeff Whiting. T-minus 11 days until opening! Stay tuned!
Rockin' Road Tour Announced!
We have finally announced the 2016 Rockin' Road To Dublin national tour!!! I am beyond excited this exciting opportunity. We begin rehearsals on September 5th and our first show is in Henderson, North Carolina on the 22nd. From then on we are pretty much performing a show every day in a different city (6 days a week to be exact). This first tour is concentrated on the midwest and west coast after we open in North Carolina. Our second tour (starting in February) will be focused on the east coast. For those who have seen the show there are quite a few changes. I'm even learning a new instrument for the show. But I don't want to give away too much! Check here for the tour schedule!
Mix It Up is open!
Finally, I am performing again! Mix It Up is now 50 shows in. Can't say we had the smoothest start but we are definitely in the swing of things now. I am lucky to have this cast and creative team. Big thanks to John Escalante, Justin Mabry, and Matt Hartwell. Luckily with this show I can keep my hands moving to prepare for my next goal: Blast. Stay tuned!
Booked for 2016!
Well it's official. I am booked for the rest of 2016! The VA Opera just closed and that was such a fun experience. It opened my eyes to a new world in the performing. I also got a nice crash course in acting as a Supernumerary. Starting in March I will be working as the Audio Engineer for "Roll Out The Barrel" at Busch Gardens. This will be my first job utilizing my degree. I am super excited for this opportunity. In May I will be returning to "Mix It Up!" as a drummer. And then finally in September I will be playing guitar (and a short drumming cameo) with "Rockin' Road To Dublin". I am very excited for what is to come of this year. After a very stressful offseason the one thing I ignored was people telling me, "It'll all work out". And they were right. It does always work out.
Just got back from NYC and APAP with Rockin' Road To Dublin. Performances went great and should start hearing about shows for our 2016 tour very soon! You can see some clips of us below at around 2:53.
Now it is the off season. I will begin doing some work for the Opera but in the meantime I must stay in shape and be on the look out for new opportunities. Lots of practice is in my future! I also have a recent desire to get some vocal training so I have begun to look into that. I have some possibilities on the horizon but need to stay on those leads. Stay tuned!
Upcoming Rockin' Road To Dublin show!
Monster Stomp Closing 2015
After an exciting Halloween season, Monster Stomp on Ripper Row is over. I am so lucky to have worked with this cast and crew. I am especially lucky to have worked with Jennifer Jancuska (jenniferjancuska.com) as our director. This is a very special show and has brought me so much knowledge in the world of theater. I hope to see all of these cast mates in future endeavors and can't wait to see what's next in my career! Stay tuned!!!
Starting this summer performing season I began a change in lifestyle in order to be in shape for my current show: Monster Stomp. Myself and my roommates created a schedule and diet for ourselves. My specific diet included a lot of meal replacements, protein shakes, eggs, turkey, and almost no beer and soda. With all this in mind, I found that it was OK to treat yourself every once in awhile so I wouldn't go crazy. I began a very consistent work out regiment. I found the Chris Hemsworth work out online and began that. This consisted of 6 straight days of working out but only a main muscle group a day (with the exception of abs and cardio on one of those days). It took quite awhile to get into the swing of things but once I got over that transition I found myself looking forward to the gym. I was very pleased with the results. I looked and felt better! I look forward to continuing this new lifestyle!
Monster Stomp 2015 Opening!
This weekend was the first week of HalloScream here at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. After our 2 week rehearsal process we opened up the season with 18 shows this weekend. Monster Stomp is an intense rock show about Jack the Ripper with dancers, singers, and drummers. In this show I get to not only drum with knives but act a lot more. I am able to grow more as a performer with this show. Jennifer Jancuska and Justin Mabry were our directors and I was so privileged to work with them. They are very fast and hard workers and really pushed the cast to a new level. I look forward to the next 5 weeks with this awesome cast!!!
Transitioning into Fall
After a nice long trip of relaxation AND auditions, I can get back in to the swing of things. My trip consisted of visiting DC, NYC, Chicago, Miami, and Orlando. It was great to see some history, broadway shows, do some city tours, and of course keeping up on the audition track. I am very lucky to have the friends and family that I do to share these awesome memories. But now, it's tim to get back to work! I will finally be heading into rehearsals for Monster Stomp today! I am super excited to meet my cast and get to work! Stay tuned for updates!
